Jul 6, Messages: I was under the impression there were reports that finasteride was still effective for the people who had been taking it for 15 - 20 years and that it could even work indefinitely as long as you keep taking it. But then I found this article above that says it begins to lose it's effectiveness after 5 years and stops working completely at 10 years then you start to lose your hair again. What do people think of this? No gain was seemed but since I still had quite a lot of hair I didn't mind. No side effects eather. Kevin Malley was almost 30, and he was starting to lose his hair. He went to his doctor to see if there was a way to keep from going bald, and his doctor prescribed Propecia. Malley started taking the drug in May , and by October he was completely impotent and had no sex drive whatsoever.
