Hi Guys, I have been on Azithromycin for the past 2 years and it has been marvellous a real miracle tablet. Before being prescribed the drug I was warned it could cause Tinnitus but I was ringing in ears after azithromycin ill I did not care about any of the side effects. However, for the past 2 months I have suffered from Tinnitus, I have been to my Ringing in ears after azithromycin but apart from syringing my lorazepam 0.5 mg vs xanax and checking them she can do nothing. Has anyone else had this side effect and if so have you any tips?

If an ototoxic drug is the cause of tinnitus, how long would it take to resolve once you stop taking the drug? This is an excellent question, but like you said, there is no easy answer.
I'm having the same problem! Its literally driving me insane. Has your ringing decreased at all yet? Last night I bought some Lipo-flavonoid Plus at wal-mart, I will let you know how it works. The pharmacist told me that it works and to give it a few days. I am Currently taking a 5 day course of Zithromax. I am half way through the treatment for a middle ear infection. This last night I developed a constant ringing in my right ear and has been going on ever since. After some research I found out that it could possibly be a side affect of the medicine.
