I was prescribed Wellbutrin mg several weeks ago, but when I moved the dose up to mg I developed very obvious tinnitus. I have now been off the Wellbutrin completely for more than a week and still the tinnitus persists. I had a large improvement with my tinnitus within 24 hours of reducing my dose back down to mg more than a week ago, but have seen no improvement since.

Our daughter, aged 25, has been on Wellbutrin for about 3 years now. There were problems with getting the right dosage so the psychiatrist added Desipramine 10 mg about 2 years ago and this was upped to 25 and then 50 mg about 1 year ago.

Is the ototoxicity of Wellbutrin based on anything other than anecdotal reports from readers? As far as I know, there are no definitive studies showing Bupropion Wellbutrin is ototoxic. There are a number of reasons for this and incidentally, these reasons apply to most drugs, not just Bupropion.
