Benzodiazepines are a class of drugs typically used to help people reduce anxiety, prevent panic disorders, or promote sleep. But when someone becomes addicted to these drugs, the withdrawal process generally produces polar opposite effects. Benzos are one of the most difficult drugs to withdraw from, partly because the severity and length of the withdrawal is so long and, often, unexpectedly difficult for the patient.

Klonopin Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine drug that is commonly prescribed for management of epileptic seizures as well as anxiety and panic attacks. It is widely regarded as a first-line treatment option for seizures, but is not a viable long term treatment solution based on the fact that patients quickly develop a tolerance.
