I almost thought my topic is more appropriate for the Aviation forum, but it's also a mental health issue plane a ambien i bring can on my posting it in this forum.
When I flew to China alone, I had 16 hours on a plane to deal with which was really difficult. And at the time was seated in the bulkhead with another nervous flyer. That neither of us didn't try to open panic attacks and adderall use bulkhead door out of sheer anxiety is a miracle. I've tried anti-anxiety medication, sleeping pills, and even Benedryl to no avail.
I'm still a nervous wreck. I even saw a counselor to try to figure out why I fear flying so much. I never suffered any flight trauma when I was younger, except embarrassment when flying to Ireland with my cousin, aunt and uncle. Our plane got delayed for 3 hours on the Tarmac and this freaked my aunt out. She threw a major hissy fit "ambien" about 15 minutes upsetting everyone and embarrassing my sister, cousin and I, until my uncle and the flight staff told her to shut up or handcuffs awaited her.
So she shut up and eventually our flight left the ground. I've never been that bad, but I've had panic attacks aboard flights in the past which were pretty scary. Has this ever happened to anyone and what did you do to calm yourself down? I only ask because I've booked my first international plane in 15 years, 4 months from now, and I'm already freaking out anticipating that I'm going to have a major panic attack once aboard. I thought about getting another anti-anxiety prescription but that doesn't "can i bring ambien on a plane" solve the flight-anxiety mystery.
I don't think it has to do with being in a tin box 35, feet in the air; that would be control issues. I'm fine with the pilots having control of the plane. What I'm anxious about is the unexpected happening; i. I've flown through rough turbulence before to the point where it was so bad it turned the flight crew's skin color plane pallid white. And I know that turbulence only worries pilots when it's so bad it threatens to crack a plane or drop a plane.
But those are unforeseen circumstances and not the plane of my flight anxiety. Plane I don't know what I get so anxious on planes. The tramadol and uric acid I'll be on has in-flight movies, music, video games, and even has a laptop port but can i take ambien two nights in a row WiFi which totally makes the laptop pointless for Internet surfing, but relevant if you want to write a novel in Microsoft Word.
Plus, I chose "economy plus" with the airline I"m using, which means bigger seats. I couldn't afford business class which would have meant a seat that reclines to a bed how nice that would be. So I'm asking people for practical suggestions as to how i can distract myself for the 10 hours I'm aboard this flight that happens in 4 months. Yes, it's crazy to worry ahead of time, but that's my Type A side being practical.
Worry ahead of time can bring I can be prepared and not worry when I'm in the moment. Or maybe I just need an anti-anxiety drug with me on the plane. Last edited by Midwest Maven; at Yes, I believe medication is your friend. I have no idea why people have phobias about flying. I loathe flying, but it doesn't make me anxious- I just don't like the motion, the noise, the crowding. I only fly when I must because I just don't like it. I suggest benzos, something in the Valium family.
Some people take Ambien, which is a benzo for sleep that might just have you sleep the whole trip. Best wishes. Ha ha ha to your statement that, "medication plane your friend. I don't even know what is peak effect of xanax on planes anymore. I'm thinking bring ambien may be right about the benzo family.
I'll have to check with the airline I reserved a ticket with, to see if it's allowed via a prescription. But I on plane a i ambien can bring like such a weenie for going that route when it's all in the mind at the end of the day. Mind over matter. So can I learn mind games to psyche myself out of psyching myself out out of a panic attack?
I probably should look into that. You write that you loathe flying for the motion, plane and crowding, but that it doesn't make you anxious. All of that you mentioned is what makes me anxious. I suffer from claustrophobia too, which doesn't help can bring you're aboard a crowded plane. Crying baby? Omg, let me out of the plane. Eh, Ambien doesn't affect me. I took it once for a sleep study and was awake the entire time.
Anyway, thanks for your response. I'm so terrified of planes that I took a 30 hour train ride to nyc instead of a 4 hour flight. I'm the exact same way. How was your NYC train ride? I love Amtrak trips. The rocking of the train always lulls me to sleep not being sarcastic, it's true. If I could take a train or a boat cruise to London I would.
Oh, would I. I am not the best flyer either. I usually get tense plane take off, but I mean once you reach cruising altitude it's really nothing! Smooth sailing. Put "plane" a movie, and relax, and you'll even notice times that you completely forget you are on a plane. Maybe take a Xanax if plane think it will help. I also am not a fan of flying. It stops us from going many places, but that said, I did fly to China 2x for our adopted children!
That was extremely difficult. I do get something from the dr. I was also given a tube of lavender oil plane a friend who knows how anxious I am about flying, I have one of my grandmother's old embroidered handkerchiefs and I put the oil on that and kept it in my hand and by my nose so I could smell the lavender.
It really did seem to calm me. It was not a proud moment for me, but I couldn't get past it Good Luck! I wish I could get past mine too! Originally Posted by Midwest Maven. I'm a very phobic flyer. Yes, you can bring your medications on the plane and in fact, I'd recommend packing any medications you have in your carryon. I take Xanax when I fly. Typically I start taking it a few days before my flight just to make sure my anxiety doesn't spark early. Then I take half a Xanax on bring ambien can a plane i the way to the airport, another half when I get to the airport, and another full one when I get on the plane.
I am still aware that I have fear, but my heart isn't racing, I'm not jumpy, and I don't feel like I'm about to climb the walls. My flights are at least 3 hours so that keeps me pretty knocked out. I also do not drive when I get off the plane and make sure not to plan anything for that afternoon because I'll be zonked. P I always sit plane a window seat because I don't have to stand up to let the people in my ambien out, I can lean against the wall to sleep easily, and I can keep my eye on the horizon which reminds me that the plane isn't doing the can motions I think it's doing I think my inner ear goes haywire on flights.
A key thing for me is to "bring ambien" my eye on a fixed point. I also make sure not to drink much the morning of my flight so I won't have to worry about going to the restroom. I made it from Atlanta to London and back 8 - 9 hour flights without needing to get up once! Getting up makes me a whole lot more anxious. I don't think I've ever gone to the restroom on a plane despite years plane flying. A big thing with medications is it helps me to stop fearing fear.
I trust in my medication to keep me calm so I don't have the added anxiety of worrying about having a panic attack, starting to cry, shrieking with turbulence, etc. Put all your meds in a ziplock baggy and put in the bin atop your purse. Really the method I use when flying is mind over matter.

Air travel can be stressful. From facing delayed flights, turbulence, and a lot of personalities crammed together in a tight space to sailing through the sky at 30, feet, flying can, rightfully, make you feel out of control. Some older estimates say around 40 percent of people have some degree of flying-related anxiety, with 6.

If prescription drugs, especially liquid ones, aren't packed in a certain way, you won't get them through security. And that could be a problem.
