Hi, in my opinion Tramadol are a good analgesic, but as the last 2 posters have commented, it maybe isn't sufficient for this kind of pain relief. Hi Santiago - Is this person a relative of yours? Is this person "home"? If you are a caregiver but not the relative I would be asking relatives to get the doctor to prescribe something that the patient can actually take or a visiting nurse can inject. Not sure why tramadol is being prescribed to someone who has lung cancer? Perhaps this person is among those who do not want narcotics.

I have known people who died from lung cancer who didn't want ANY medications. This person who comes to mind Personally, I cannot imagine living like that and I hope you will do what is necessary for this person who is suffering. I've seen huge amounts of morphine or strong fentanyl patches for cancer pain. If its immediate release tramadol, I don't see a problem with dissolving it but if its extended release, it will destroy that quality.
