I have access to both. When I first started taking the Benadryl, diphenhydramine mix made me very sleepy and I was really grogged out but I was depressed anyway and didn't want to do anything but and clonazepam in my room and sleep. I did notice when I was up and moving around, it helped to keep my eyes open, though. After a time, I adjusted to the dosage of Benadryl and it no longer made me sleepy.

The Klonopin helps to clonazepam the spasms for me and reduce stress. The Benadryl, having anticholinergic properties, seems to help get my eyes open. I occasionally cut back on the Benadryl and stop it as its effectiveness seems to diminish over time. After a "holiday" off the Benadryl, I can restart it and it works again. I take the Klonopin and Neurontin but have been thinking about trying the Benadryl again. I did find that it made me very drouzy but but may be that will force me to rest like I am supposed to I've never tried the non-drowsy formula. I just take the generic Benadryl which has only the ingredient diphenhydramine hydrochloride in it 25 mg mix diphenhydramine and tablet or capsule.

I'm not sure what the non-drowsy formula has in it-probably a decongestant of some kind, I'm guessing. I'll and clonazepam to look the next time I brave the outdoors to do a little shopping. I was cautious at first until I knew how it would affect me. At higher doses it made me drowsy in the beginning.
